A Quick Look at Loxone Hardware – The Foundation of Smart EV Charging Systems
You don’t need much to get started—just a small selection of essential Loxone hardware is enough to automate and manage your wallbox charging operations. The system is fully compatible with any Loxone Miniserver, whether you’re using the standard version, the Compact, or the Miniserver Go.
Loxone Miniserver
The system takes care of everything—from managing users (including NFC access) and approving charging sessions to balancing energy loads dynamically. It even sends out automated CSV reports by email, complete with user IDs, charging data, and timestamps. No need for manual input, which means less time spent and fewer staff required.

Loxone Wallbox
Depending on the model, Loxone Wallboxes offer dynamic charging ranges from 1.38 kW up to 11 kW—or even 4.1 kW to 22 kW. This flexibility lets you smartly distribute power across multiple vehicles, tap into surplus solar energy, align with grid-friendly load management, or take advantage of lower electricity rates like spot market pricing.
For installations, the Wallbox Air is perfect for retrofit projects without existing wiring, while the Wallbox Tree fits seamlessly into new builds with structured bus cabling.
Loxone Energy Meter 3-Phase
To track energy usage with precision, the system uses a 3-phase
Energy Meter. It’s MID-certified, meaning it meets strict EU standards (Directive 2014/32/EU) for billing accuracy and data integrity in commercial and tax-related settings.
All measurement data is sent to the Miniserver in real time, laying the groundwork for automated logging and billing.

Loxone NFC Code Touch
The NFC Code Touch makes user identification simple and seamless. It can be built right into the Loxone Wallbox, allowing users to log in with a tap of their NFC tag—no app, no extra gear needed. Every charging session is automatically tied to a user ID, making it easy to assign sessions to specific people or vehicles, set access permissions, and generate user-specific charging logs.
It’s a smart solution for fleets, employee parking, or rental properties with multiple users.
Setup Snapshot: How to Automatically Log Charging Sessions and Email the Reports
Setting this up in Loxone Config only takes a few essential components. Once in place, the system automatically tracks each user’s charging sessions and sends out a monthly CSV report by email—complete with all the details, right on schedule.

At the heart of the setup is the Wallbox module, which handles detailed tracking of each charging session. It receives the user ID directly from the NFC Code Touch module, ensuring every charge is accurately linked to the right person.

If you also want to save a charge log locally on the Miniserver’s SD card, this is easy to do:
- Create a logger.
- Connect it to the “Lcl” (Load Charge Log) output of the Wallbox module.
